Solar System Explorer

Explore the Sun and eight planets in an interactive 3D scene built on real orbital mechanics and NASA planetary data, with a guided planetary tour and adjustable distance scale.

This interactive 3D scene shows the Sun and the eight planets on their real relative orbital distances, computed from real orbital mechanics — Newtonian gravity applied to each planet’s actual semi-major axis and the Sun’s real mass — rather than an illustrative animation. Each planet’s mean radius, orbital radius and mass are taken from NASA’s Planetary Fact Sheets (nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/factsheet), and the orbital velocity and orbital period shown for each body are derived directly from ScienceVerse’s own restricted two-body gravity model applied to those figures — the same model used throughout ScienceVerse’s gravity and orbital-motion simulations, not a separate or invented set of numbers.

A guided tour steps through the Sun and each planet in turn, and a distance-scale toggle switches between a compressed view (everything visible in one frame) and a physically proportional linear scale, where Neptune sits roughly 77 times farther from the Sun than Mercury — exactly as in reality, and far outside a single comfortable camera framing, which is why the compressed view exists as the default. A low-power/text view is available at any time, and readers whose browser cannot run WebGL, or who have JavaScript disabled, see the same real orbital data below instead.
