Cookies and local storage
ScienceVerse uses only what it needs to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Last updated 30 September 2026.
What we use
- sv_session (cookie, only when you sign in): keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure, is sent only to ScienceVerse, and expires after 15 minutes, renewed as you use the site.
- Short-lived signed cookies used for a single task, for example confirming that an adult is present before an experiment's steps are shown. They expire quickly and identify nothing about you.
- sv-color-scheme and sv-age-mode (local storage on your device): remember your light or dark choice and your age mode. They are never sent to our servers.
