Privacy notice

Who we are

ScienceVerse is run by Toi 'n' Moi. You can reach us at support@toinmoi-ai.com for anything in this notice, including requests about your data.

Without an account

• You can read every public page, use the core simulations, 3D scenes, quizzes and experiments, and use the AI tutor a limited number of times a day without signing up.
• We keep anonymous usage events (for example which page type was opened, and coarse performance bands). They carry no name, email or account, and for referrals we keep only a category such as "search engine", never the full address.
• Your IP address is used briefly to apply rate limits and the anonymous tutor allowance. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
• Your browser remembers your colour scheme and age-mode choice on your own device (local storage); this is never sent to us.

With an account

• We store your email address, a display name, and a salted one-way hash of your password (never the password itself).
• We store what you choose to save or complete: saved concepts, quiz results, progress and badges.
• If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe through Toi 'n' Moi's subscription service. We never see or store your card details; we keep your plan, its status and renewal date, and an encrypted reference that lets us manage the subscription.
• If you turn on email features, we send account emails (verification, password reset) through a transactional email provider.
• If you sign up with Google, or with an email address and password, sign-in is provided by Google's Firebase Authentication. Firebase holds your email address, display name, sign-in method and a Firebase user identifier, and sends the email that asks you to confirm your address and any password-reset email. We never receive your Google password, and we check the token Firebase issues on our server before signing you in.
• Deleting your account here removes the records we hold. Your sign-in record at Firebase is removed on request: email support@toinmoi-ai.com from the address you signed up with.

Children

• Children use ScienceVerse through a profile managed by a parent or guardian. A child profile has no public profile, no messaging and no posting, and is private by default.
• We do not record behavioural analytics against a child profile, and a child profile carries no identifier beyond the name the guardian chose.
• Some activities involve adult supervision; we ask for an adult's confirmation before showing the steps of an experiment that needs it.
• Guardians can edit or remove a child profile at any time.

The AI tutor

When you ask the tutor a question, your message and the relevant approved source material are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce an answer. We do not keep a conversation history on our servers: each question is answered on its own and the chat you see lives only in your browser tab. We log technical metadata about each answer (for example how many sources were used and how long it took) to keep the tutor safe and accurate, and we keep raw message content to a minimum. Messages are checked by safety rules before and after the model is used.

Who else handles data

• Hosting and storage: our own servers.
• AI answers: Anthropic.
• Payments and subscriptions: Stripe, via Toi 'n' Moi's subscription service.
• Account email: a transactional email provider (when enabled).
• Sign-in (Google and confirmed email accounts): Google Firebase Authentication.
• We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising.

Your choices and rights

• Download a copy of your data, or delete your account and its data, from Settings once you are signed in. Deleting your account removes your profile, saved items and progress.
• If you have an active subscription, cancel it first from Family > Manage plan; you can delete your account once the paid period has ended. If you need your data erased sooner, contact us.
• You can ask us to correct your data, to restrict or object to how it is used, or to explain what we hold. Contact support@toinmoi-ai.com.
• If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

How long we keep things

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous usage events are kept to measure and improve the product. Sign-in sessions last 15 minutes and are renewed as you use the site.
