Accessibility statement
ScienceVerse should be usable by everyone who wants to learn science, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, captions or other assistive technology. This statement covers scienceverse.toi-n-moi.co.uk.

The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We believe the site partly meets that standard: the limitations we know about are listed below, and we are working on them.
Settings you can change
- Light or dark colour scheme, from the button in the page header.
- Reading depth: every concept is written at five depths (Explorer, Investigator, Scientist, Advanced, Expert), from short sentences with everyday examples to full technical detail.
- Reduce motion, higher contrast and larger text, in Settings once you are signed in. Your device's own “reduce motion” setting is also followed: simulations show still diagrams instead of animations, and 3D scenes stop moving.
- Every animation can be paused, and the layout reflows to fit a narrow screen or zoomed text without scrolling sideways.
What we have built in
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, starts with a “skip to main content” link and has headings and landmarks that screen readers can navigate by.
- Simulations: every slider can be moved with the arrow, Page Up/Page Down and Home/End keys, and has a box for typing an exact value; values that are out of range are explained, not silently changed. The results are written out as text, announced as they change, and available as a table.
- 3D scenes: a guided tour and on-screen buttons (rotate, tilt and zoom) do everything dragging does, and every scene has a low-power text and 2D view with the same information.
- The Knowledge Galaxy has a list view with the same concepts and connections as the map.
- Equations are published as MathML, which screen readers can read out.
- Experiments state their safety level in words, not just with a colour.
- The AI tutor's conversation is a live region, so new answers are read out, and an explanation can be made simpler or deeper with one button.
Known limitations
- The drawings inside simulations and 3D scenes (orbits, waves, ray diagrams, the cell, the DNA helix) are pictures. The information in them is given in text, in the live values and data table, and in each page's written description, but a screen reader cannot explore the drawing itself.
- In 3D free look, dragging to turn the view needs a mouse or touch screen. Keyboard and switch users can use the camera buttons, the guided tour or the text view instead.
- Signing in with Google and paying for a subscription happen on pages run by Google and Stripe, whose accessibility we do not control.
- Our automated checks run on every release, but a full manual audit of every journey with screen readers has not been completed yet. We will update this statement when it has.
How we test
Before each release, an automated accessibility checker (axe) tests the main page types, including every simulation and 3D scene, in both colour schemes and at all five reading depths, and the release is blocked if it finds a serious problem. Keyboard-only journeys are tested automatically too.
Tell us about a problem
If you find something you cannot use, or need information in a different format, email support@toinmoi-ai.com. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you can, the device, browser and assistive technology you use. We will reply, and if we cannot fix the problem quickly we will tell you how else to get the information.
