AI Tutor

Ask about AI basics, with answers grounded in ScienceVerse's published sources.

Before you ask

The tutor answers from ScienceVerse’s published concepts and shows the sources it used. It can be wrong, so check anything important against those sources. Please do not type your name, address, school or other personal details.

What the tutor can and cannot do

It can

  • Explain an idea at your reading depth, then make it simpler or go deeper.
  • Teach a short lesson in steps, with a question to check each step.
  • Give up to three hints for a problem before showing the answer.
  • Set practice questions from ScienceVerse’s question bank and mark your answers.
  • Work out numbers with a built-in calculator and open a simulation with the right settings.

It cannot

  • Answer from outside ScienceVerse: it does not search the web, and says so when its sources do not cover a question.
  • Remember earlier chats: each conversation lives only in this browser tab.
  • Help with anything dangerous, such as unsafe experiments, weapons or drugs.
  • Help in a crisis. If you or someone else may be in danger, talk to a trusted adult, or in the UK call Childline on 0800 1111 or Samaritans on 116 123.

Your questions and your data

Your question and the source material it needs are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the answer. We keep only the topic and technical details, never your words. See the privacy notice.

Questions a day: 5 without an account, 15 with a free account and 100 with Plus or Family. Answering lesson and practice questions does not use them up.
